WRITE BEGININNINGS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES
ONLINE COURSE AND DIGITAL PRODUCT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Online Course and Digital Product Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the purchase, access, and use of online courses, digital educational materials, downloadable resources, and related products offered by Write Beginnings Occupational Therapy Services (“Write Beginnings,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By completing a purchase and affirmatively agreeing to these Terms at checkout, the purchaser (“Purchaser” or “User”) acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE
All courses, videos, handouts, guides, downloads, and educational materials provided by Write Beginnings are intended for educational and professional development purposes only.
Content may be informed by occupational therapy knowledge, education, and professional experience but is not intended to provide individualized occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, diagnosis, medical advice, or other individualized professional services.
Purchase or participation does not establish a therapist-client relationship between Write Beginnings or Stephanie Roberts, MA, OTR/L and the Purchaser, participating organization, employee, child, or family.
Users are responsible for applying information within the scope of their own professional role, training, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
2. FINE MOTOR UNIVERSITY ACCESS PERIOD
Purchase of Fine Motor University (“FMU”) includes access for a fixed period of 12 months.
FMU is offered as a one-time purchase. Course access does not automatically renew, and the Purchaser will not be automatically charged for an additional access period.
For Individual Educator Access, the 12-month access period begins when course access is provided following purchase.
For Program-Wide Access, the 12-month access period begins when Write Beginnings activates the Designated Program Login.
At the conclusion of the 12-month access period, course access will expire. Continued access requires a new purchase unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Write Beginnings.
3. INDIVIDUAL EDUCATOR ACCESS
Individual Educator Access is licensed to one individual user.
The individual Purchaser may access FMU and use included course resources for their own educational and professional purposes during the applicable access period.
Individual Educator Access may not be shared with coworkers, employees, staff members, teams, programs, organizations, or other individuals.
Login credentials may not be shared.
An Individual Educator Access purchase does not authorize group viewing, group training, staff development use, or program-wide access.
Organizations wishing to provide FMU access to employees must purchase Program-Wide Access.
4. PROGRAM-WIDE ACCESS
Program-Wide Access is licensed to one purchasing organization.
For purposes of these Terms, the purchasing organization may include one or multiple program locations owned or operated by the same purchasing organization.
Authorized employees of the purchasing organization may participate in FMU during the applicable 12-month access period.
Program-Wide Access may not be extended to individuals who are not authorized employees of the purchasing organization or to separate organizations, partner agencies, unrelated businesses, or other entities.
Program-Wide Access includes one Designated Program Login.
One designated email address and one login will be used to access FMU on behalf of the purchasing organization.
The purchasing organization is responsible for limiting use of the Designated Program Login to authorized employees participating in FMU.
The Designated Program Login may not be provided to individuals outside of the purchasing organization.
Purchase of Program-Wide Access does not authorize the purchasing organization to download, host, reproduce, record, broadcast, or independently deliver FMU as its own training program.
5. DESIGNATED PROGRAM LOGIN
Following purchase of Program-Wide Access, the Purchaser will be asked to provide one email address for the Designated Program Login.
The purchasing organization is responsible for providing an accurate email address and maintaining access to the Designated Program Login during the 12-month access period.
Write Beginnings may require reasonable verification before changing a Designated Program Login.
A change to an organization’s administrator, staffing, or internal email access does not create an additional FMU license or extend the original 12-month access period.
6. PROGRAM-WIDE CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION
For Program-Wide Access, Write Beginnings may provide the purchasing administrator with a blank Fine Motor University Certificate of Completion.
The purchasing administrator may issue a Certificate of Completion only to an authorized employee of the purchasing organization who has independently completed the full FMU course.
The purchasing organization is responsible for reasonably verifying course completion before issuing a certificate.
The participant’s name and course completion date may be added to the certificate.
The certificate may not otherwise be edited, altered, reproduced for another course, or used to represent completion of training that did not occur.
Certificates may not be sold or issued to individuals outside of the purchasing organization.
7. DIGITAL PRODUCTS AND DOWNLOADABLE RESOURCES
Write Beginnings may offer downloadable digital products, including but not limited to sensory guides, fine motor resources, activity cards, educational guides, checklists, handouts, and future digital educational resources.
The license applicable to a digital product will be identified at the time of purchase.
Individual Use License
An Individual Use License permits use by one purchaser for the purchaser’s own personal or professional educational purposes.
Materials purchased under an Individual Use License may not be shared with coworkers, staff members, organizations, or other individuals.
Program-Wide Use License
A Program-Wide Use License permits internal use of the purchased digital resource by authorized employees of one purchasing organization.
The purchasing organization may operate one or multiple locations.
Program-Wide materials may be used internally across locations owned or operated by the same purchasing organization.
Materials may not be distributed to separate organizations, partner agencies, unrelated businesses, families for redistribution, or the general public unless expressly permitted in writing by Write Beginnings.
Purchase of a digital product provides a limited license to use the resource according to the license selected at purchase. Ownership and copyright remain with Write Beginnings.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All FMU course content and Write Beginnings digital materials, including but not limited to videos, audio, recordings, course lessons, written content, slides, transcripts, graphics, worksheets, handouts, guides, certificates, activity materials, and downloadable resources, are owned by or licensed to Write Beginnings unless otherwise stated.
Purchase provides a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content according to these Terms.
Purchase does not transfer copyright, ownership, or intellectual property rights to the Purchaser or participating organization.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, content may not be copied, reproduced, republished, sold, sublicensed, distributed, or used to create another course, training, presentation, product, or commercial educational resource without prior written permission from Write Beginnings.
9. PROHIBITED RECORDING, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION
FMU video and audio content may not be recorded, reproduced, copied, captured, or redistributed.
Users may not:
- Screen record FMU videos or course content.
- Audio record FMU instruction.
- Record FMU using a phone, tablet, camera, computer, or other device.
- Download course videos through unauthorized means.
- Copy or reproduce substantial portions of course videos, transcripts, slides, or written instruction.
- Upload FMU content to Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, an internal server, a learning management system, or another file-sharing or digital storage platform for distribution.
- Upload or post FMU content to a website, social media platform, membership community, or online group.
- Broadcast or stream FMU through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or another virtual meeting platform, outside of use within purchaser’s participating organization.
- Present FMU videos or course content as an independently delivered staff training.
- Use FMU content to create or substantially reproduce a competing course, training, presentation, or commercial educational product.
- Use artificial intelligence or other automated tools to reproduce, transform, extract, or generate materials from FMU content for redistribution, publication, sale, or development of a competing product.
Nothing in this section prohibits reasonable personal note-taking or the appropriate application of knowledge and strategies learned through FMU in the User’s own professional practice.
10. USE OF DOWNLOADABLE COURSE RESOURCES
Downloadable resources specifically provided as part of FMU may be downloaded and used according to the access license purchased.
Individual Educator Access permits the individual user to use course resources for their own professional educational purposes.
Program-Wide Access permits authorized employees of the purchasing organization to use approved downloadable course resources internally for educational and professional purposes.
Downloadable resources may not be resold, publicly posted, uploaded to resource-sharing websites, represented as the User’s original work, or distributed outside the scope of the purchased license.
11. PAYMENT
Payment is due at the time of purchase unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
FMU access is sold as a one-time purchase for a fixed 12-month access period.
The price and access option displayed at checkout apply to the purchase.
Access may be suspended or terminated in the event of a failed payment, reversed payment, fraudulent transaction, or improper chargeback.
12. REFUND POLICY
Due to the digital nature of FMU and Write Beginnings digital products and the immediate availability of digital course content and downloadable educational resources, all purchases are final and non-refundable.
Purchasers are responsible for reviewing the course or product description, access option, license type, and these Terms before completing a purchase.
Write Beginnings may, at its sole discretion, address accidental duplicate purchases, billing errors, or other exceptional circumstances.
If a Purchaser experiences a technical issue that prevents access to purchased content, the Purchaser should contact Write Beginnings at: [email protected]. Write Beginnings will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve legitimate technical access concerns.
A technical issue does not automatically entitle the Purchaser to a refund.
13. CERTIFICATES AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
When offered, certificates document participation in or completion of the applicable educational content.
A Certificate of Completion does not guarantee acceptance for continuing education credit, licensing requirements, professional development hours, employer requirements, credentialing requirements, or regulatory requirements.
Participants and purchasing organizations are responsible for confirming whether FMU or another Write Beginnings course meets the requirements of an employer, licensing board, credentialing agency, or governing organization.
14. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS
Write Beginnings provides educational information, strategies, and resources intended to support professional knowledge and practice.
Write Beginnings does not guarantee specific outcomes, including changes in child development, classroom participation, staff performance, program outcomes, DRDP ratings, licensing outcomes, professional advancement, or financial results.
Outcomes vary based on factors outside of the control of Write Beginnings.
15. DRDP AND THIRD-PARTY PROGRAMS
Any discussion of the Desired Results Developmental Profile (“DRDP”) or other third-party frameworks, assessments, programs, products, or resources is provided for educational purposes.
Unless expressly stated, Write Beginnings is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the California Department of Social Services, California Department of Education, DRDP Online, or other third-party organizations referenced in course content.
Third-party names, programs, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Users are responsible for consulting current official guidance when completing required assessments, documentation, or reporting.
16. APPROPRIATE USE OF EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION
Course and digital product content provides general educational information and strategies.
Users are responsible for considering the individual needs, abilities, safety, supervision requirements, and circumstances of the children and adults they support.
Users are responsible for exercising appropriate professional judgment and following applicable workplace policies, licensing requirements, laws, and professional standards.
17. TERMINATION OR SUSPENSION OF ACCESS
Write Beginnings reserves the right to suspend or terminate course access when there is reasonable evidence of a material violation of these Terms, including:
- Unauthorized sharing of an Individual Educator Login.
- Providing a Designated Program Login to individuals outside of the purchasing organization.
- Unauthorized recording or reproduction of FMU.
- Unauthorized distribution of course or digital materials.
- Copyright or intellectual property violations.
- Fraudulent purchases or improper chargebacks.
- Use of materials outside of the license purchased.
When reasonably appropriate, Write Beginnings may contact the Purchaser regarding a suspected violation before suspending or terminating access.
Termination due to a material violation of these Terms does not entitle the Purchaser to a refund.
18. COURSE AND PLATFORM AVAILABILITY
FMU is currently delivered through a third-party online course platform.
Write Beginnings may update, revise, replace, or improve course lessons, resources, downloads, or platform features during the access period.
Write Beginnings does not guarantee uninterrupted access when service interruptions result from internet providers, third-party platforms, scheduled maintenance, or circumstances outside of Write Beginnings’ reasonable control.
Write Beginnings will make reasonable efforts to address known course-access concerns.
19. PRIVACY
Personal information collected during purchase, registration, course access, or participation will be handled according to the Write Beginnings Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Third-party payment processors, email providers, and course platforms may separately collect and process information according to their own privacy policies.
20. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Write Beginnings Occupational Therapy Services and its owner, employees, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use course content or digital materials.
The Purchaser and User assume responsibility for how educational information and strategies are selected, adapted, and implemented.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
21. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
22. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Write Beginnings may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to a purchase will generally be the version presented and accepted at the time of purchase, except when changes are required by applicable law.
